Why choose Silverside Design?

When you choose SD you are choosing to buy a product of which there is no higher quality. You are buying longevity and artistry. We don’t cut corners and we don’t use subpar materials. We aren’t DIYers turned builders. We are professionally trained pioneers in our industry being led by a Master Fabricator and a Master Finisher who individually have been in their crafts for over 20 years each and bring a knowledge that cannot be otherwise found.

Ballpark cost of your Piaggio Apes?

Our Piaggio Apes in the 501 and 601 models can start as low as $24k and go up to $95k. Most of our clients spend $50k to $70k on their products however our more intricate builds such as our Kitchen edition usually falls between $75k and $95k.

How long does a build take?

We build in small batches and on average, our products take about 4-6 months to build from scratch. This time begins when the previous batch ahead of yours is completed. 2 weeks of this is spent on 3D design where, depending on your specific contract, you are assigned 6hr or 20hrs for design. The rest of the timeframe is on the execution of the approved design.

WHat is your lead time on building my Product?

This varies constantly. We will list our next available slot on the banner of our homepage. See the next question for info on securing a slot. Next estimated slot available: January 2023 (updated 12/19/22)

How do I secure a slot on your build schedule?

You’ll need to have a phone/in-person consultation with us. From there you’ll select the features you want in your Piaggio Ape or custom product and we will put them into a formal contract.

A non-refundable booking fee of $10,000 is required to book your build slot and an additional non refundable payment of of $15k to $25k is due at the start of design depending on the product you’ve selected.

How does The Design process work?

We consider all of our work to be an art form. With that in mind, we have a style that we build our products in. We do not provide any designs in advance of the build slot because if you’re here, that means you like our aesthetic style so you know what to expect.

I want something built in a vintage Piaggio that Silverside hasn’t done before. Can you do it and what is the process?

If you’ve ever renovated your home or had one built, you typically go to an architect first to get plans made, those plans are then confirmed by an engineer, and from there a builder will quote you on the total cost for them to bring it to life. That’s very much the same process here with a brand new concept. We are the architect, the engineer and the builder all in one and offer a DESIGN ONLY contract where we give you 20 hours of research and design time to figure out how to bring your vision to life. From there, we can give you a quote on the cost to build it.

Electric conversion for Piaggio Apes

We pioneered this feature in our industry and HIGHLY recommend it for anyone who hopes to scale their business. All of our Piaggio Apes will come with this feature unless otherwise requested. It adds unprecedented ease of use with intuitive drive features and replaces all original braking, suspension, and drivetrain with brand new, easy to source parts with a manufacturer’s warranty.

Financing and payment terms

Standard Payment Terms: A non-refundable booking fee of $10,000 is required to book your build slot and an additional non refundable $25,000 is due at the start of design. Both payment are applied to your total product cost upon completion of your product. The remaining balance is due at this time.

Shipping OPTIONS

Shipping prices are very arbitrary so these numbers change frequently. To give you an idea of the price from our recommended broker it is anywhere from $.85/mile to $1.25/mile. Once we connect you with our broker, it is up to you to secure your shipping slot.
